CIWED Ghana Previously known as Centre for Capacity Improvement for the Wellbeing of the Vulnerable is a Non-Governmental, Non-profit and Non-Partisan organisation, formed with the aim of promoting quality of life for the poor and marginalized in society particularly women and children to ascertain their rights.

 The organisation is registered with the Ghana Registrar General’s Department and obtained a Certificate of Incorporation and to Commence Business, registered on the 30th June 2016, under the Companies act, 1963 (ACT 179). and companies’ provisions of Sections 27 and 28 of Companies act, 1963 respectively, and a license Certificate with department of social welfare, through Ministry of Gender Children and Social Protection under the matrimonial causes Act 367, 1971; amendment instrument 2012 L.I. 2191 Non-Profit Organization Policy (2020) and directive for the management of Non Profit Organizations in Ghana (2020).

To collaborate with communities, their structures, and allied organizations to enhance the capacities of community members and marginalized groups, ensuring equitable access to informative resources that empower and enrich their lives. 

To empower marginalized communities by providing access to information and building capacity, thereby fostering economic independence and self-reliance. Our strategic focus areas encompass community outreach, educational initiatives, and partnerships with similar organizations.

The aim of the Centre is in two folds;

  1. To under-take projects in community and its implementation to the development of the communities needs and;
  2. Embark on advocacy campaigns and trainings on multi-dimensional issues which relate to the improvement of living standards especially in rural communities in Ghana.
